Jean, you made me smile. Thanks for your comment. I look out at the church and I see women carrying their loads and the mens' as well. I see women holding together families, holding together churches, holding together homes and children. I see women who are tired, and you sound tired. You bet these women are "doing pretty good." Funny that you should say, "Men couldn't do it if we put on them what we put on women." You're so accurate in your description of how things are. But this is not how things should be. One simple marriage principle is that in the Bible, the Lord called women "the weaker vessel." Simply put, in a godly marriage, the man should always be carrying a heavier load. So I have more ambitious goals than just patting women on the back and sending them back for more of the same. My husband and I want to see the men of God rise up out of passivity to lead, provide, and protect God's daughters, so their eyes shine with joy rather than gloss over with exhaustion. That's what my latest series of posts are about. It's a fight against all hell, but that's what ojandsuz are up to.

Bless you...if you enjoy my blog, you might want to know that much of my writing assumes you're familiar with our core teaching and message, which you'll find under the "Teaching" tab up top...called the Gospel and Freedom class. The blog may not make tons of sense without that. Bless you again!!!! I sure don't want to fuss at you or scold you, but I'd give you a hug if I could! :)

Suzanna, your article was a blessing to me, I really needed to hear about a wife's role in marriage, without all the scolding and put downs that these articles generally do to women. I enjoyed the article tremendously,
but why did you need to write "YOU" in quotatons to fuss at wives? Also, why did you feel the need to scold us for having normal reactions such as hopelessness and anger. Suzanna, wives go through and awful lot of stuff in marriage. Society puts a lot of things on our shoulders. With this in mind, we must remember that we are human and therefore, will have feelings of anger and hopelessness. We are told: we must cook good meals, give good sex on demand, raise obedient children, maintain an attractive clean home, give into in laws, keep ourselves young and attractive looking, give him space, brag on him, kiss up to him, don't complain, pray for him...even when he is mean to you, and still continue to do all of the above. We take a lot from men and our own gender jumps on us too. I think we do pretty good, don't you? Why not compliment us a little more for all that we do. Men could not survive if they had to do all the things we put on women.

Suz, thank you for once again sharing your heart and passion for purpose rather than passivity. Thanks for your testimony of leaning wholly on the Lord and following His plan for your lives! It's inspiring :). Love you, friend.

More cliffhangers!!! Ahh!! Just kidding :) Thanks Suz for igniting a fire in me. I didn't realize how passionate I was about all this until you wrote this blog. Much love to you, friend! By the way, my friend Joanna suggested I read a book called "Boys Adrift" - have you heard of it? I couldn't put it down last night. A lot to do with what you're writing about.
